If a man does not keep pace with his companions, perhaps it is because he hears a different drummer. Let him step to the music which he hears, however measured or far away---Henry David Thoreau
Recorded at the home of a friend, Conrad Moore, in Lancaster, PA in 2003. We were in a multiracial, multicultural group together, Revelation 7:9. Conrad and I sing and play percussion together.
I have been carying around a small 3" x 4" sketchbook with me, a practice I haven't done in many years. Sketched two of these drawings while watching Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland with my grandson, Gavin, last night. I keep adding characters.
Finished this cover for a sketchbook from my 1968 figure drawing class at Ventura College, Ventura, California. I want to experiment with a freer, mixed media style through an art journal and other pieces.
Finished this painting entitled "Descent" today. It started out to be a different painting than it turned out to be. I started experimenting with it after I got started. The Christ figure is an outline of Gruenwald's Crucifixion that was painted, rubbed off, and drastically altered. I added the flames of Hell below in that the cruciform Christ seemed to be falling through the middle of the cross. "Descent" is a double reference to Christ's "descent" from the cross and the Christian doctrine of Christ's "descent" to Hell. The photo is a bit darker than the painting itself.
